celebrate their 40th college reunion. Some did one of these activities each day while others simply sat, relaxed and visited. There’s something for everyone.

Do Some Pickn & Grinnin at The Shed Cafe, Edom, TX
If your East Texas getaway has you in the area on a Tuesday evening you’ll have a great time at this event. The Edom locals and folks from surrounding areas gather every Tuesday with their favorite musical instrument and all jam together. You’ll see musicians from ages 10 – 80+ filling the room with happy and fun tunes and everyone leaves with a big ole’ smile! Feel free to chime in if the gets you to. Tuesday evenings beginning at 6:00pm

Visit the Tyler Rose Gardens The Tyler Municipal Rose Garden is a 14-acre park, making it the nation’s largest rose garden. There are over 38,000 rose bushes of at least 500 different varieties, from tall grafted rose trees to miniature roses no larger than a dime. The Rose Garden is open from dawn until dark, seven days a week. Admission is free.

Take a stroll in the East Texas Arboretum in Athens
The East Texas Arboretum sits on more than 100 acres of native Texas land and includes formal gardens, historic buildings and a wooded nature area with more than 2 miles of naturalistic hiking trails.
